Welcome to The Wounded Christian Project, a ministry of John and Vicky Piper.
We are glad that you have found us!
Like you, we have been deeply wounded by Christians would should have been building us up, but instead tore us down. God is using what we have learned in our hurt, pain, and suffering to help others start their Healing and Restoration Journey.
At this point in time our ministry consists of a book The Wounded Christian - A Love Letter to a Broken Child of God, a podcast The Wounded Christian, an audio devotional 40 Days of Healing, and Speaking Engagements.
Wherever you are at in your healing journey we have something that will help bring you closer to God, and closer to the "Next" that He has for you.
Our Origin Story
At the age of 5 God called John to work for an aviation-based mission out of the United Kingdom. Having spent his life planning and training for that calling he exited mission work in a dramatic and painful way.
After over a decade of pain and suffering John's medical condition was finally diagnosed correctly and treated. During the pandemic of 2020 John felt called to share his story of healing on Facebook. The response from other "Wounded Christians" led to the writing of his first book "The Wounded Christian - a Love Letter to a Broken Child of God". A book of healing and restoration to those who have been wounded in their service to God.
Shortly after releasing the book John launched The Wounded Christian Podcast as a way to reach people at all stages of their Healing and Restoration Process.
Hurt in Church
The response to the book was huge. Pastors, Preachers and Sunday School Teachers from around the globe sent messages saying "Thank You". People who had been Wounded in Ministry were grateful that someone had been honest about the wounds that often get inflicted during service to God.
The surprising response came from those who had been hurt in Church who hadn't been in a leadership role. Messages came in from all over with people saying that they had read the book and started on the Healing and Restoration process.
John and his wife, Vicky, have been Wounded in Ministry and Hurt in Church. Their mission is to help others heal, be restored, and find their "What's Next" in the plan that God has for their lives.
